About us
Raw Trade, S.L. is a company founded in 2006 by the Barrera family, a family with more than 80 years of presence and experience in the fertilizer industry in Spain. Our origins date back to 1940, with the creation and management in the Canary Islands of Industrias Químicas Canarias S.A. by Don Ismael Barrera Juan for the production and marketing of Superphosphates and NPKs fertilizers. Later, in 1950, the Compañia Insular del Nitrogeno S.A. (CINSA) was founded in Las Palmas to produce Ammonium Sulfate. His son Don Jose Vicente Barrera Picó would follow in his footsteps as the General Manager of up to 5 factories spread all around Spain. Currently, Raw Trade S.L. is managed by their successors and is involved in the following activities:
- Trading of commodities and raw materials: fertilizers, bauxite, sulfur, animal forages and cementitious products (Clinker, cement, slag, gypsum, limestone …).
- Chartering of ships.
- Import and distribution of fertilizers in Spain.
We are part of the Medifer Group, one of the main players in the production and distribution of fertilizers in Spain, in which the Barrera family has ownership in the following companies:
- Medifer (Constantino Gutiérrez, S.A.): company founded in 1972 with headquarters in Alicante which is one of the leading companies in Spain in the manufacture and distribution of both solid and liquid fertilizers. www.medifer.es
- Fertisac S.L.: factory of superphosphates, granulated NPKs and liquid fertilizers located in Atarfe (Granada). www.fertisac.es
- COFEPASA (Comercial de Fertilizantes y Productos Agrarios S.A.): company founded in 1986 with headquarters in Monzón (Huesca) dedicated to the import, distribution and manufacture of both solid and liquid fertilizers. www.cofepasa.com
- Agrosemillas S.L.: Company based in El Peral (Cuenca) dedicated to the manufacture and marketing of seeds and distribution of fertilizers. www.agrosemillas.net
- Green Grain S.L.: Company based in Bocairent (Valencia) dedicated to the manufacture and export of animal forages. www.greenandgrain.es
- Manfer Iberian S.L.: Factory based in El Salobral (Albacete) dedicated to the manufacture of ecological fertilizers in pellet format.
